Hartselle's Smith new Miss Marble Valley
|
Hartselle native Megan Smith won the title for the first Miss Marble Valley pageant on Saturday night and a spot in the Miss Alabama pageant.
The Hartselle High School graduate and University of Alabama freshman is the daughter of Jeffrey and Paula Smith.
In 2012, Smith represented Morgan County at the Alabama Distinguished Young Women program, where she finished as first runner-up. Smith was Hartselle High’s 2012 valedictorian and received recognition for organizing Stories for Smiles, a volunteer effort that distributes donated books to children in the community.
Smith will join 50 other young women from across the state to compete for the title of Miss Alabama on June 5-8 at Samford University.
